The practice may have undergone a few names but it has been here for longer than anyone can remember.

Innisfail Dentists is proud to stay on top of the advances in dental technology and offer them to our patients. A new digital intra-oral scanner technology in our office that replaces the old, traditional tray and putty dental impressions.

The older technique, admittedly, was a bit awkward. It required a gooey compound to make impressions and sometimes triggered the gag reflex. It typically resulted in our having to take several rounds of impressions that might be rejected, fragmented, or misplaced. We are now able to take precise digital impressions of your teeth and jaw. You see your teeth instantly in 3-D! The scanner ensures a comfortable, more accurate impression from your first appointment, resulting in faster and safer treatment.

We tend to service the first category.

We see it as our role to examine people’s teeth and find any problems. Then we discuss different treatment options and go ahead with what the patient chooses. Sometimes people choose to do nothing and as long as they understand the consequences of their choice, we are happy to support them in that decision. Sometimes people go for very comprehensive treatment involving many or all teeth. We are happy to do that too. If people decide to have teeth extracted we do that, but we have yet to see a person who actually wants a tooth pulled out.

Many patients like to spread treatment out over time which often works very well but we like to make up a plan to work to so the most urgent issues can be addressed first.
